Mumbai: Post the 8 Nov ‘2016 Demonetisation of Indian rupee announced by PM Narendra Modi, conversion of black money into Dollars, Gold & Platinum had been hogging headlines in media reportage but all that is passe now. A new form of converting or parking ill got cash seems to have found its way with the December 22nd seizure of uranium worth around Rs 26 crore at Thane, Maharashtra . A detailed investigation on the same is being conducted by the Thane police.
One Kishore Prajapati has been arrested in this connection. Prajapati who is a scrap dealer has told the police during his interrogation that he had found this uranium in a scrapped Air India aircraft which he had purchased through his contacts. The market value of uranium stands at Rs 3 crore per kg.
