Bhubaneswar :  Noted socio-political leader and Chairman of SNSMT Shri. Suparno Satpathy today released a video message on Facebook & Twitter , demanding the notification of 23rd of January as ‘Patriots Day’
Smt. Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT) along with several other organisations since long have been associated with the movement for Declassification of Netaji Files. Ever since pre-independence era there have been several files on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose which have been kept classified. As believed by many, declassification of these files shall unearth the truth about the greatness of Netaji and that history of post independence India will need to be rewritten to accommodate Netaji’s due space in the same.
Supporting this movement CM of West Bengal Ms. Mamata Banerjee was the first to declassify 64 Netaji Files available in Kolkata. Following her, PM of India Sh. Narendra Modi on 23 Jan 2016 declassified 100 Netaji Files. Ever since then, the National Archives of India for the past 10 months has been declassifing 25 Netaji Files every month.
“There is a long way to go in solving the Mystery of Netaji  as there are several files to be declassified” said the grand nephew of Netaji, Shri. Chandra Kumar Bose.
” 23 Jan is the birth date of the Patriot of Patriots Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and there couldn’t be a better tribute than declaring 23 Jan as Patriots Day. This will not only mark respects for Netaji but for each ‘Patriot’ who enable a free and strong India. ‘Patriots Day’ has not been demanded as a holiday it has been demanded as a solidarity day”, said Shri. Suparno Satpathy
Our sources at the PMO confirmed that a demand for notifying 23 January as Patriots Day had been received and the same is under consideration.
