KBC Junior 1 Cr. winner Ravi Mohan Saini is now an IPS officer

Bhubaneswar:  He was in class 10 then. He had answered all 15 questions correctly in year 2000 and had won our hearts along with the grand prize of Rs. 1 crore in the popular TV game show hosted by non other than the Amitabh Bachchan, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) Junior.

It is not just that KBC Junior win which makes him special and an inspiration, Ravi Mohan Saini has recently cleared the UPSC Civil Services to became an IPS officer.

Saini tells this reporter that it was his strong desire to meet Amitabh Bachchan which had prompted him to try his luck at KBC.

If that was not enough to impress and inspire, Ravi Mohan Saini has been a topper throughout his academic career and he is also a MBBS.

In year 2013 Saini had got selected for the Indian Post and telecom, accounts and finance services. He had also undergone an eight months training for the same. In 2014, he appeared for the UPSC exam and qualified for the Indian Police Services (IPS).

He is now posted as an IPS officer in Gujarat.

 

Soumya Ranjan Patnaik addresses ‘Spandan’ an ‘Odia Society of Singapore’ event

Bhubaneswar / Singapore: Odia Society of Singapore- Sing Odia held its annual cultural event ‘Spandan’ and the same was dedicated to Lord Jagannatha.

An evening of devotional songs was performed by noted singer Arabinda Muduli and his group. The evening was graced by Ama Odisha Party President Soumya Ranjan Patnaik as their Chief Speaker. He in his address spoke about the rich culture of Odisha and about Odisha’s ancient literature and significance of  Odisha as motherland.

BJP leader Dr. Sambit Patra, also attended the cultural programme as Guest of Honor.  Patra also launched a mobile application of Odia Society of Singapore.

The President of Odia Society of Singapore Sambit Mishra and Vice President Sunil Senapati along with several other committee members were present on the occasion. The evening was attended by several non resident Odias living in Singapore.

Sushant Manna said that next year the event shall be organised in a much better way than this year and that the few glitches witnessed this year shall be taken care of.

Greg Moran launches Zoomcar services in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: India’s first 100-per cent self-driven car rental company, Zoomcar, launched its Odisha operations here. The company is  in talks with the tourism department  to further enhance a better opportunity for locals and travelers.

Zoomcar CEO and Co-founder Greg Moran said, “With our successful launch in Bhubaneswar, we have covered 27 metro and non-metro cities across India. We already have about 2600 registered users in Bhubaneswar.”
